One Good Game: How I Outplayed A Player Rated 500 Higher Than Me
First in the "One Good Game" series!Hello, Larry back again.
As the title says, today I will be reviewing my best blitz win.
My rating was 1370, comparing to my opponent's 1900.
Here's the position!
Pretty solid opening in my opinion. (See full analysis for details).
On move 13, we have pretty much declared war on each other.
After ... b4?! I play Na4?! Not wanting to open up my king from the h-file after axb4 axb4 threatening my knight, but I didn't see Nb1, blocking the king from attack on the 1st rank.
On move 19, my opponent played ... e5?? blunder, allowing me to play: g5 hxg5, fxg5 Be7,and g6!, ripping open my opponent's defense, as ...f6 is impossible because of the bishop on b3.
...Be6,gxf7+ Rxf7?? allowing me to take his bishop and rook in exchange for a bishop.
Move 29, Qxb3?? sacrificing his queen for my bishop, my opponent resigned on cxb3.
