Is lichess.org variants getting to be to much?

I think lichess.org is going a little to far with the chess variants it's in my opinion ruining the classic standard chess game. In the long run standard chess is gonna be played far less on this site as there's now more chess variants players then standard chess games.
Capablanca one time say, that the classical chess will be bored cause a lot of draws when two masters play, and have a idea of "Capablanca's chess", Fischer have the other idea, the "Fischerandom chess" or Chess960, whatever, the most players of this variants, has 2000+ elo in classical, can they tired of play the standart everyday? or take seven draws of eight games?

(My main language is portuguese, sorry ANY gramatical error)
You say, "In the long run standard chess is gonna be played far less on this site."

That will only happen if most players prefer the variants over standard chess, which means they are doing what they prefer! I suppose it makes sense to help people do what they prefer.

I'd be interested in the actual stats -- out of the last 24 hours, how many "standard" vs "variant" games were played on this site? I would guess that over 95% of games are standard ones.

as far as I know this is the one place where anyone can play a lot of different variants. I think they should keep making more. Variants are extremely fun
:\ I can only say that this is a really bad argument.

"I don't want other people to have choice because they should play the variant I want them to play."

... or something to that effect. The variants were written by another developer (not ornicar) who really wanted to implement variants because he thought having variants on lichess would be super fun, so he dedicated some of his own time to making. I can't think of any reason why this is a bad thing.
