Learn to resign

Just curious what others thought about this. I like to play the game out to the checkmate, whichever side is winning. It's how chess used to be played. However, I keep getting these "learn to resign" comments and my opponents seem very angry. Should they just be ignored?
"It's how chess used to be played."

Assuming this is true and there was a time when resigning wasn't allowed - and I have no idea if that is in fact true - the fact that it happened to be played that way at some point in the past is hardly a relevant argument for why it should be played that way today. Chess "used to be played" with queens that only moved one square at a time, are you going to volunteer to abide by that?
#1 ignore them. People get angry about silly things. You aren't breaking any rules if you play the game out.

#2 Chill!
i usually get these comments right after my opponents turn a win into a draw or even a loss, its probably just a coincidence :o
lol - like the random draw offers that come flying in during the final seconds of a bullet match when you're in a winning position :D
The transition towards earlier resigning is a result of our instant gratification consumer culture, and more specifically, the "internet addicts", which is often cultivated by pornography addiction. This is also why faster and faster games are being played by those who are addictive prone, to produce more dopamine by the novelty of starting another game.
"It's how chess used to be played." Maybe in a game between engines...
"For beginners, it's best to play every game out to the bitter end since you can learn something new from every move. But when you are experienced enough to determine you're losing, it's chess etiquette to put a timely end and resign instead of dragging on. Think of it like good sportsmanship."

But seriously, who cares, if someone doesn't want a full game, they shouldn't... Play a full game. If the comments are polite enough, it's just a matter of whether you're moved, and if they aren't, just ignore them or report them to the moderators.
#7: Operators resign for engines when a game is totally lost, in engine tournament games.
angry is a relative adjective. I like when ppl don't resign, do you? "everyone who only sees a face cannot see the heart"
