Fat Fritz is not the Only Ripoff and now ChessBase is Getting Sued

Wow, this is pretty interesting. ChessBase had absolutely NO right to rip-off and use parts of Stockfish's code. Stockfish is a very well coded engine (in my opinion), and as such, should be treated with the proper respect. I strongly feel for, and take the side, of the Stockfish admins. :)
Pretty sure 99% of the folks here do not know the difference between free - as in freedom vs free - as in price. They are just getting triggered by chessbase charging a price for it. There is no clause in GPL that prevents selling or charging a price for the software (or any modifications to it). It is the obligation to distribute the associated source code that can be claimed by the SF team, provided they can prove that the modifications are linked to the original program in ways covered by the GPL. Not all forms of linkages require the reciprocity of GPL. Otherwise, every MySQL stored data or any programs running on linux would be required to be open sourced, which is obviously not the case.
Fritz>>Stockfish. Really sad the fact that chess site where i decided to play is not neutral. Really disappointed about that.

Tired of this surface world. Better staying in deep abyss.
HEY-O.
I bought older 64bit-versions of Fritz and ChessBase for the GUI and usability. Stockfish and other engines can be installed as UCI . Easy to install the newest engine versions. 🙂 Go Stockfish! Go ChessBase!
