Why do people hate playing the French Exchange?

I have been noticing streamers raging when White plays the French exchange but I never found out why.
Because its drawish and the least ambitious line for white
Even the 4. Bd3 which is a fun line before was met now with the symmetrical 4... Bd6 with 81% drawing chances to black.
I play the frech defense with black and usually the exchange variation leads to a position in which is very hard to come up with a plan, and it's almost exactly the same every time. Most of the time I keep making waiting moves until my opponent blunders (My rating is not very high, so they often do), but it is very boring to play such positions.
Chess players (should) like to get complicated positions. It's good to repeat one position a bunch of times when this gives you some advantage, but not when it looks drawish every time.
I, a 1500-rated-player, might win a game every now and then because I know the opening more than my 1400-1600 opponents, but for 2000+ rated players it is easy to draw with the French Exchange.
Masaya siya kase hindi ka matatalo sa opening
Tal said playing French exchange is a crime. And I agree! It leads to such symmetrical and drawish positions I cannot possibly imagine why people play it.
I know this master who castles queenside as black in the French exchange. It's actually a really fun way to play the opening. Pawnstorm games are rarely draws. I just play the boring symmetrical lines though, because I haven't really devoted myself to the theory lol.
