I was banned for 10 minutes for aborting 1 game

Brian-E .... Thank you for understanding. If I was feeling magnanimous I might have ignored Baron's piling on but it was the end of a long day and I was hoping for positive change ... Hopefully the developers will synthesize the commentary into improvements.
No-one was "piling on" either in my opinion.

But yes, I sometimes get irritated too if it's the end of a long day and I have what I think is a genuine grievance.

Piling on? Good lord. I understand it can be irritating if your connection is not great, but that is something wholly within your control since you state you have poor equipment. Disconnections and game aborts impact others on this site too, the bans are a way of asking you not to play until your internet is stable.

Hope you get things sorted.
The best thing one can do to avoid that is to play every game they start. Sounds a bit too simple if you put it like that but in reality it is just that simple. Lichess has nothing to gain from timing out people for no reason.
Well, it's unclear what the topic of this thread is:
- OP lied in the first post about the number of aborted games
- Players do/don't have a right to abort and/or ragequit games, depending upon opponent rating
- "Black left the game" called by Lichess failing to allow for technical issues
- Severity of punishments
- Request for filtering tools
- Players getting mad at each other
- Meta-commentary
- Arguments about the computer industry
10 minutes? I usually have to go through some unappealing process which never gets resolved.

I'll take the opposite side of the debate here: I understand that lichess wants to keep the relative frequency of aborted games low and so I see why they put timeouts in place when people abort too many games (I was timeouted for 10 minutes for aborting too many games in a row against much lower rated players (~500 rating points lower than mine) a few days ago, which caused me to use the rating filtering feature and thus made matching more efficient). Indeed, if too many games are aborted, this means that the average time it takes to find a match is high.

On the other hand, aborting a game only means that your opponent has to look for a new game, which for the vast majority of players on this site means that they loose only a few seconds. So there is no actual harm and only minimal time wasted for any given game that is aborted, and therefore timeouts on the length of days as a punishment for aborting many games in a row is incommensurate.

Probably it's my fault, but I failed to read where exactly are posted evidence that player lied about the few abortions that led to ban.
This place is to report bug, if every strange software behaviour is just a "lie" you don't need this forum section.

Mmm at the end of all this chatting (sometimes OT)
Did someone check your reporting? Did you receive any answers or explanation or this is still an open issues?
