JanLee is a genius. Lichess probably awarded him the Lm title as a marketing choice. Its like saying to the world "this genius plays only on Lichess" Its like an advertisment. I would suspect they probably have a contract with him or sth
lichess could just add a condition like :
- be the leader of a variant for some time (let's say one year)
janlee would therefore satisfy 2 conditions.
it will open the door for potential other guys mastering their variant.
and the debate would have no more reason to exist.
