@tpr I expect it's the same reason the Najdorf is dying. I don't think it's so much about any specific variation as about the fact that the entire opening is extremely susceptible to computer prep where practically no human could hope to survive (against a top player) without having done similar computer prep. And the positions are too rich to dig into each and every possible crevice.
