Is declining a takeback request rude?

@A_0123456 Indeed, that's why it's rude to ask for a takeback. but you can offer a takeback if you think your opponent made a mouseslip or blunder or whatever, I mean it's your privilege to say hey that wasn't a good move, here you can try again.
The reason I disabled takebacks is that I had too many people blundering, saying "sorry, it was a mouseslip", I grant a takeback, and then they moved a different piece to a completely different part of the board. Fool me once, etc.
I used to give them, and request them. Then I ran into an opponent who requested one (and I agreed) but did not reciprocate in a complicated position. So, now, I am with Krennwurzn.
Never understood the purpose of takebacks in online non-casual games.
Takeback doesn't exist in OTB...
if i decline a tb, i do.... no one has squawked so far..... sometimes i allow them (when i'm way ahead, and like a cat with a wounded and terrified mouse i want it to linger.........linger........) ... well, yeah, if i'm killing someone and they feel like asking for a tb, i might........... but why are they even asking, usually is the pertinent question....they should just face the inevitable.
